Who we are
The Independent Electricity System Operator (IESO) works at the centre of the province’s power system, ensuring Ontarians have access to reliable and cost-effective electricity when and where they need it. We operate the province’s electricity grid 24/7, design, run and oversee the wholesale electricity markets, and plan and prepare to meet Ontario’s electricity needs – now and into the future.
The Opportunity
The Market Renewal Program (MRP) is about improving the way electricity is priced, scheduled and procured in order to meet Ontario’s current and future energy needs reliably, transparently, efficiently and at lowest cost. The program will lead an evolution of the IESO Administered Markets that will be critical to the long-term ability of the organization to deliver on it’s mandate. This evolution will require fundamental changes to the IESO’s tools, processes, Market Rules, and resourcing, as well significant effort to ensure our internal and external stakeholders understand and are prepared for the change.
The Energy Implementation supervisors, for their respective areas of responsibility, will lead the translation of the established MRP design into enduring changes within the IESO’s tools and processes.
